The Yarra Plenty Regional Library kicked off its live reads Booklovers Festival yesterday at the Diamond Valley Library with a visit from Joe Dolce. Joe spoke to a group of thirty about songwriting, poetry and his Italian heritage and entertained the group with live music and readings of poetry from his new collection, Hat Box. The session finished with the group tucking into a slice of Joe's heavenly Red Velvet Cake for which he is famous.
In the evening, Nick Gadd held an intimate discussion with another group at the Diamond Valley Library about his award winning novel, Ghostlines. Readers and writers of crime were interested in the creative life of a writer and asked Nick about his methods for writing and how he went about getting published.
