Yarra Plenty Regional Library is excited to extend a warm invitation to celebrate the new additions to the Eltham Library. The $1.25 million upgrade is almost complete and there will be a week of celebratory events from Monday 20 September. Join us for a week of festivities from Monday 20 September, including an evening with blockbuster author Matthew Reilly, animal farm, puppet show, Wii competition, fairy facepainter, tours of the all-new library, balloons and more ...
The community will be able to check out:
- a bigger children’s library with outdoor space
- more online learning space - doubling the number of computers
- more space for young people including flat screens and games
- a relaxed reading lounge and fireplace
- a dedicated local history area
- automated book returns
The official opening will take place on Tuesday 21 September at 11.00am and we have the pleasure of presenting international best-selling author Mathew Reilly on Thursday 23 September from 7.00pm-8.30pm, who will discuss his popular novels. Eltham Bookshop will have his books for sale and signing. Wine and cheese supper provided.
